Headquartered in El Segundo, California, Virgin Orbit National Systems can provide study, analysis, integration, and launch services using Virgin Orbit's LauncherOne, while ensuring our customer’s critical information is protected.

Your Mission

Virgin Orbit National Systems is currently seeking to hire a IT Administrator. Our IT administrator will perform all activities associated with installing servicing and maintaining a wide range of IT related products. This position requires excellent computing skills, networking knowledge, systems integration and software troubleshooting as well as excellent repair skills, as you will be helping build out, maintain, and troubleshoot the infrastructure for our information technology systems.  You will be part of a talented team that demonstrates superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.  This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills.

  • Assist users to resolve computer hardware and/or software problems
  • Provide quick response to ensure maximum uptime of all users and systems
  • Configure, deploy, fix, and/or provide troubleshooting support according to company standards and procedures for the following hardware and associated software:
  • Desktop and Laptop Computers
  • Terminals, Printers, Copy/Fax Machines
  • Servers
  • WAN/LAN/WLAN Infrastructure (routers, switches, structured cabling, etc…)
  • Telecommunication Systems – wired, wireless and cellular
  • General administration functions such as password resets, adds/changes/delete to active directory and email accounts
  • Train users on supported software and hardware with understanding of technology from a user perspective as well as technical perspective
  • Discuss with users best practices for PC maintenance and performance
  • Maintain, track, and control related inventory
  • Deployment and utilization of tools to improve efficiencies
  • Collaborate with co-workers to share expertise, information and solve problems
  • Perform ongoing evaluation for system related process improvements
  • Manage and monitor installed systems and infrastructure
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Help VO-NS do our part to make the world a better place
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

What you bring

  • High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 - 4 years of previous IT tech support experience in corporate environment
  • Expert working knowledge of all Microsoft Windows & Office technologies (Windows XP/Vista/7 as well as Office/Outlook/Excel/Word and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with the following software and hardware:
  • WAN/LAN topology
  • TCP/IP
  • Active Directory
  • Various telephone landline and wireless services & equipment support
  • Create a high level of user satisfaction through accurate and timely follow-up & strong technical skills
  • Must demonstrate superior organization and time management skills
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience deploying and configuring IP and/or RF video and audio communication systems including but not limited to: Clearcom, PA Systems, VoIP, IP Cameras, etc.
  • Industry level IT and/or Structured Cabling certifications
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting multiple IT components in a launch and/or test operations environment
  • Extensive knowledge of Ethernet network construction including fiber optic, wireless, and copper structured cabling
  • Fundamental knowledge of Windows Server and roles including DHCP, DNS, Active Directory
  • Fundamental knowledge of Network Engineering, Information Security, VOIP and IP Video encoding and transport
  • Self-driven, with a strong background in pragmatic project management, problem solving, organization, inter-team communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed

ITAR Requirements:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Clearance Requirements:
