Position Summary
Virgin Orbit (VO) is seeking an IT Support Technician who will be responsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. IT Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through e-mail, remotely, in person (for walk-up customers) and self-service.

Your Mission

  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows and Mac) and across a range of software applications. Troubleshoot, assess, and escalate infrastructure issues as needed. Work in maintaining and improving daily operations as well as assist in Launch IT functions as needed.
  • Take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary
  • Accurately record, update and document requests using the IT Service Desk system. Participate in and create Knowledge Base articles to continuously improve our service delivery.
  • Install and configure new IT equipment (user onboarding, refreshes, upgrades, etc.)
  • Resolve incidents with all end point devices including printers, copiers and scanners, wireless devices, audio visual systems, mobile devices, etc.
  • Maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated with the utmost customer service in the Virgin Way!
  • Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization
  • Help Virgin Orbit do our part to make the world a better place
  • Constantly learn new things—and share them with your team members (e.g. Jira, Mathworks, Audio Visual, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned (e.g. Executive Support, AV setup, etc.)

What you bring

If you want to join us, you’d better have all of these…

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of Service Desk Support Experience in an Enterprise Environment, working with Desktops, Laptops, Phones/Tablets, Servers, Printers, Networking Devices and related equipment
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Mac OS.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and the fundamental items that makes Enterprise Domains function
  • Foundational understanding of Networking and Security protocols and troubleshooting experience, along with VPN troubleshooting experience
  • Fundamental understanding of Imaging and Deployment procedures and systems (WDS, MDT, SCCM)
  • Fundamental understanding of scripts and batch files, along with PowerShell and Linux Shell commands
  • Experience with remote support tools and software deployment (e.g. Jamf, Manage Engine, etc.).
  • Maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated with the utmost customer service in the Virgin Way!
  • Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organization

  • Performs other duties as assigned (e.g. Executive Support, AV setup, etc.)

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • Professional exposure to Linux support
  • IT Certifications in related fields
  • Generally high level of all-around awesomeness
  • Passion for space exploration and a firm belief in the utility of affordable access to space

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
