Virgin Orbit National Systems (previously known as VOX Space) provides the national security community of the USA and allied nations with responsive, dedicated, and affordable launch services for small satellites bound for Low Earth Orbit. Headquartered in El Segundo, California, Virgin Orbit National Systems can provide study, analysis, integration, and launch services using Virgin Orbit's LauncherOne, while ensuring our customer’s critical information is protected.

Your Mission

  • Preparing and reviewing contract documents.
  • You are excited about bring a New Space start up into some government programs.
  • Identifying and communicating significant/unique contract requirements, special provisions, and terms and conditions with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and monitoring the contract process from initial internal strategy to preparation, to documentation and resulting in timely execution.
  • Preparing contract modifications and amendments.
  • Tracking authorizations, correspondence, and revisions for ongoing contracts
  • Developing and maintain detailed and organized contract files, including correspondence, changes, amendments.
  • Preparing, educating, and disseminating information throughout the company (from the C Suite to individual employees) related to contracts and contract administration
  • Leading all aspects of the Subcontract process including Requests For Proposals/Quotes, proposal evaluations, source selections, negotiations, file documentation, change management, and subcontract close-out. 
  • Providing timely and accurate subcontract status to the leadership teams.
  • Applying ingenuity and innovation to develop solutions to complex subcontract problems.
  • Proactively administering contracts, modifications through contract closeout in close coordination with the program team, and ensure contract management activities and maintenance of accurate and complete contract files and records are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Monitoring subcontract compliance.
  • Provides preliminary direction, serves as a guide and acts as a resource for junior or new staff on the team.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Organizational Management, Engineering, English or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of relevant Subcontracts/Contract administration experience.
  • Experience with FAR and government contracts; as well as commercial.
  • Experience with various business Information Systems.
  • Knowledge of ITAR and US import and export regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and resourceful attitude.
  • You don’t mind working in the weeds or at the high level; and can appreciate a startup culture.

Physical and/or Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed.
  • Domestic and International travel will be required for this role. In addition to, candidate will require a valid passport.

ITAR Requirements:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Clearance Requirements:

Position requires you have a current clearance, or are able to pass an appropriate background check for a TS/SCI.
