    Position Summary

    VOX Space is seeking a new member for our team to serve as a Principal Finance & Accounting. If you join us in this position, you will be responsible for outlining, directing and supporting the fiscal functions of VOX Space in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. This role will be responsible for managing the monthly accounting close process which includes select financial reporting, as well to work closely with our external auditors and tax consultants on a wide range of corporate initiatives. This role will also be responsible for cost estimating and pricing activities in support of the business, developing valuation models and financing strategies and options, and defining the financial routine and help establish the baseline for the company to meet their obligations to the parent company and our customers. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a full-time position at VOX Spaces’ facility in El Segundo, California.

    Your Mission

    • Support the President and leadership team to establish long range business strategy.
    • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
    • Advise company leadership on how to address government contract financial reporting requirements and ensure compliance with said requirements.
    • Maintain financial model of near term and long term profitability and cash flow.
    • Maintain financial measures and objectives and support dissemination across company.
    • Exercise full responsibility for estimates of labor and material costs on requests for proposal (RFP).
    • Provide managerial oversight for all Cost/Pricing/Estimating sections of the solicitation and other solicitation documents, and develop price and/or cost volumes for proposals to win new business.
    • Ensure price proposals are in full compliance with RFP instructions, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and internal policies and procedures relating to estimating and proposals.
    • Monthly accounting close process and account reconciliation (Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, and P&L) with supporting documentation and schedules.
    • Provide account analysis to appropriately determine accruals or other estimates to be recorded in the general ledger.
    • Perform technical accounting research to determine appropriate treatment for a variety of transactions under US GAAP.
    • Present financial and cost reports and findings to senior staff both for internal VOX Space leadership and reporting to the parent company.
    • Directly oversee the creation of pricing sections of the proposal and other solicitation documents as well as the Cost Rationale required in proposals for new business.
    • Identify and integrate resources into the proposal effort to continuously improve the company’s competitive position. 
    • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
    • Develop credibility for the finance group by establishing and providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the President, Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
    • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of VOX Space.
    • Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
    • Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline.
    • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting department budgets.
    • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization.
    • Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
    • Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
    • Be an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which VOX Space may enter.
    • Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.

    What you bring

    If you want to join us, you’d better have all of these…


    • MBA with 10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, CPA preferred with at least 3-5 years of experience at a Big Four public accounting firm.
    • Uniquely well-versed in both commercial and government financial requirements and strategies.
    • Thorough understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations and government required Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) cost accounting processes and practices.
    • Fluent in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.

    • Must be able to work all shifts and available for overtime as well as weekends when needed.

    ITAR Requirements
    To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.


    Clearance Requirements:

    Position requires you have a current clearance, or are able to pass an appropriate background check for a TS/SCI.
