Position Summary

Virgin Orbit (VO) is seeking a new member for our team to serve as Contracts Administrator.  If you join us in this position, you will assist in the preparation and administration of a broad range of contracts and serve as the key contact regarding contract administration.  This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. This is a full-time position at our rocket factory in beautiful Long Beach, California.

Your Mission

  • Prepare and execute approved non-disclosure agreements
  • Prepare draft contract documents
  • Prepare contract modifications and amendments
  • Track authorizations, correspondence, and revisions for ongoing contracts
  • Develop and maintain detailed and organized contract files, including correspondences, changes, amendments
  • Track commitments, authorizations, and approval processes
  • Small business tracking and reporting
  • Proactively administer contracts and modifications through contract closeout
  • Provide effective and proactive communication to support the LauncherOne Contracts Manager
  • Help Virgin Orbit do our part to make the world a better place
  • Constantly learn new things—and share them with your team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you bring

If you want to join us, you’d better have all of these…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline;  JD or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial contracts management and/or managing subcontracts under a government prime contract
  • Experience in interpreting the FAR and other agency supplement flowdowns for applicability
  • In-depth understanding of Time and Material (T&M) and Fixed Price type contracts
  • Ability to review and negotiate terms and conditions, statements of work and redline documents to assess risks to the organization
  • Beginning knowledge of ITAR and US import and export regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Takes ownership of work and sees a project all the way through from beginning to end
  • Is excited about Virgin Orbit and the space industry, has a willingness to learn and understand the subject matter, and is able to connect to the rocket and the different functional departments
  • Is able to review contracts and analyze terms for risks to the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Driven, highly motivated, and committed to improvement

ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
