Position Summary

Virgin Orbit (VO) is seeking a new member for our team to serve as CREATIVE ASSOCIATE. If you join us in this position, you will assist in design, development and production of products and events for the LauncherOne small satellite launch program. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and strong creative, organization and planning skills. This is a full-time/intern position at our rocket factory in beautiful Long Beach, California.

Your Mission

  • Supporting the execution of multi-channel projects that include branded products and event production, as well as a range of design services for the company
  • Supporting various aspects of the design, development and production process
  • Executing the day-to-day tasks necessary to assist with development, sourcing, and production functions
  • Help Virgin Orbit do our part to make the world a better place
  • Constantly learn new things—and share them with your team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you bring

If you want to join us, you’d better have all of these…

  • Working towards Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a creative field (Product or Graphic Design degree preferred)

  • Work experience in a design, marketing, or creative environment (or at least a very strong interest in working within those kinds of environments)

  • Proficient in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc)

  • Proficiency in OS X and Apple products preferred

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal

  • Ability to thrive as a ‘one person team’

  • Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment

  • Humble, can-do attitude

… and you should probably have a bunch of these, too.

  • Strong interest in designing products and/or throwing parties

  • Experience with 3D and animation software preferred but not required

  • Experience in product design preferred but not required

  • Passion for space exploration and a firm belief in the utility of affordable access to space


ITAR Requirements

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
