In support of our LauncherOne efforts and as part of our propulsion test group, we are seeking an experienced Data Systems Principal Engineer to develop and maintain data acquisition and control systems for Newton rocket engine propulsion test facilities for the LauncherOne program.
The Engine Data Systems Engineer/Specialist will be responsible for design, development, and operation of the LauncherOne propulsion test site facility data acquisition and control software that supports remote ground test stand and rocket engine test article fluid components and instrumentation during daily operations and propulsion hot fire testing operations.
The Engine Data Systems Engineer/Specialist will work with a dynamic and highly skilled propulsion engineering team in the development and production testing of LauncherOne rocket engine testing program. The ideal candidate would be a specialist with systems engineering level experience with processors, power and grounding systems, National Instruments software, electronics and sensors. Leadership for the development of innovative data acquisition and control systems will be involved.
System design and architecture of the chemical rocket engine test facility configuration
Design of in-house chemical rocket engine test systems and component test software as appropriate
Electrical design of wire harnesses and other interconnect systems as well as configuration management
Systems level design of data acquisition and controls systems which integrate between engine and component test facilities.
Leadership for data acquisition and control software and hardware design crew.
Assistance in the development of manufacturing and integration and test processes and procedures. Including hardware and software acceptance test procedures
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or STEM plus a minimum of (9) years of related experience. Extensive experience in National Instruments hardware and software systems design and development
In depth knowledge with design and analysis software; LabView is desired.
Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
Must be a U.S. person as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).
Experience in low cost commercial space system ventures desired
Experience with air launched space launch vehicles or aircraft systems desired
Experience with air launched space launch vehicles
